At its British site in Macclesfield, AstraZeneca produces three variants of one of it‘s leading breast cancer tablets. The company has increased its production volume on account of the increased demand worldwide. But the existing machine setup made it impossible to achieve the optimal output volume. Fette Compacting provided support in finding a solution and even succeeded in exceeding the set goals.

Innovation in the time of Corona

Entirely Convincing – F10i field test
After testing the new F10i tablet press offered by Fette Compacting for several months, pharmaceutical manufacturer Artesan is now reporting some remarkable results: all output volumes have been drastically increased, while it has been possible to noticeably reduce cleaning times and energy consumption.
Tablet production 4.0 – connecting tradition and the digital future
Digitalization represents an enormous opportunity for the production of solid formulations but it also represents a challenge: products are becoming more individual, manufacturing processes more complex, and batches smaller. Digitally-connected production equipment is the answer to these requirements. Using RFID and smart software, it drives automation of the processes and makes production data available in real time.

Skill Based Trainings – targeted training
Since 2017 Fette Compacting has been offering training sessions that address the specific knowledge gaps of employees in pharmaceutical production. A questionnaire (also online available) initially documents the current level of knowledge in relevant areas of competence. The results are used to prepare tailored training programs for individuals or teams. The case of a medium-sized pharmaceutical manufacturer shows: skill-based training enabled productivity to be increased in a short space of time.
